Watching paint dry

literally & figuratively!

Yesterday Matt took three trips to home depot resulting in 6 paint samples and different color splotches all over the baby's room wall. I think we made a decision. We better get painting before we change our minds!

Time seemed to be flying for awhile, now it just seems to be standing still. I feel normal again, not much of a belly to speak of, two week hiatus from doctor's appointments, no more shots... the only thing that reminds me that I'm pregnant are the occasional hormonal freak outs and sciatic pain. I know, I know, enjoy this time before I'm getting kicked in the ribs and can't tie my shoes!

A little late but this is what's going on with baby in week 15...

Your baby is looking more like a baby every day. This week he is about 4 inches long crown to rump, and may weigh about 2 ½ ounces. The body is now growing faster now to catch up with the growth of his head. His legs have grown longer than his arms and he can move all of his limbs. Speaking of movement, this may be the week you feel him flutter about like a butterfly’s wings. Make no mistake that he is dancing around in there. You just may not yet feel it. Baby can kick, flail, twist, and turn.

His skin is still translucent. If you were to take a look inside your womb, you would see his blood vessels underneath his lanugo-covered skin. Lanugo is a downy-like hair that keeps your baby insulated and warm. He usually sheds this before birth or soon after.

His toenails and fingernails are beginning to grow, along with this eyebrows and head hair. Bones in his middle ear are beginning to harden, but his hearing has not yet fully developed. Sweat glands are begging to form, as well as taste buds. Although baby’s eyelids remain shut, he will move away from any bright lights shown directly at him. (source smartmomma.com)

Nursery--Under Construction...

We can officially say that we are working on the nursery because...it has furniture!!! We were given a crib and matching changing table from a good friend (well, technically her mother) and we were also given a family rocking chair; it finally looks like a baby room! We are ready to start fixing that nursery up! Matt is going to paint...soon. First we have to decide on colors though. We are apparently not very good at agreeing on baby decor! At least we managed to agree on names. We also bought a few blankets at Babies R Us to help us figure out a color scheme/theme/etc.

On a mommy note, I have been pregnant for over 100 and spent the last 75 of those giving myself a daily shot of progesterone oil. Until tonight!!! Today is my last shot!!! WOOHOO! I have been weaning myself off for the last two weeks and have not had any adverse reactions which means things are going well! If that continues we will have our last appointment with our fertility specialist on Tuesday. It's bittersweet--it's great because that means I can be a normal pregnant person, but it's a shame because we won't get to see the baby every week and I really like my doctor. I guess her job is done though and she did it well!

here comes the bump...

week12^

week 14^

Dinner is served!

yes, this was my dinner last night--an avocado, tomatoes, fritos and orange soda--and it was darn good!

14 weeks

This week, your baby has fully developed sex organs, although they will be difficult to see on your pregnancy ultrasound. In boys, the prostate gland is developing. In girls, the ovaries have formed and have moved down into the pelvis.

Your baby is 3 ½ inches long, crown to rump (head to butt) and weighs about 1 ½ ounces. Her skin is very translucent, although she is beginning to develop a downy, very fine hair called lanugo over her body for insulation. She will have this hair until she develops enough fat deposits to regulate her temperature, usually shortly before she’s born.

This week, your baby is strengthening her muscles by moving and kicking a little more. She is becoming more flexible and stronger every day. She is even practicing moving her facial muscles, as she frowns, grimaces, and squints.

Your baby is in the midst of an impressive growth spurt. Within the next month or two, she will triple in length and grow to reach the one-pound mark. (source: smartmomma.com)

13 weeks, 6 days

Here is our almost 14 weeker! Not the best of pics, but it's all we got this week. Up on the left you can see where the head is just out of the shot, then all the way down the spine and two little legs that are just about to push off of me! We got to see lots of cool movements, the chambers of the heart and the umbilical cord pumping blood to baby. We didn't get to see any confirmation about gender though. Baby was not cooperating. Baby stayed pretty much in a profile position and just wouldn't let us sneak a peek! We go back next Tuesday for what should be our last appointment with our fertility specialist, which also means, no more weekly pictures :( ! I only have three more shots to give myself and then I am done! So far all is well!
